  • 7-Seater Car Rental Kuala Lumpur: MPV…

Seven seats, and real boot room the moment you fold the back row. Here is the quick version of renting an MPV in KL.

Renting a 7-seater in Kuala Lumpur? For most families and small groups, the Perodua Alza is the one. Seven seats across three rows, real boot space once you fold the back row, automatic (the sane choice on unfamiliar roads), and we will have it waiting for you in the KLIA arrivals hall. This is the short guide to picking the right setup, what it costs, and where it will take you.

Good news if it is your first time driving here: every big route out of KL — Genting, Malacca, Penang, Cameron Highlands — is sealed highway, so you do not need a 4x4 or any special skill. Book the Alza, pick it up at the airport, and drive.

Which 7-Seater to Rent: the Alza (and the BR-V)

The Perodua Alza is Malaysia's best-selling compact MPV, and it is the one most of our families take. Seven seats in three rows, automatic, and easy to drive — nothing intimidating about it. With all seven seats up, the boot takes a couple of cabin bags; fold the back row and you have an estate-sized boot for three or four big suitcases, which is how most families with kids actually travel. If you would rather sit a little higher, the Honda BR-V is the same idea in a crossover shape, with a third-row bench.

One thing to know before you book: our MPVs seat up to seven — we do not carry premium people-movers or 10-seater vans, and we would rather tell you now than at the airport. For up to seven people with normal holiday luggage, the Alza does the job; if your group is bigger, book two cars or message us before you fly and we will set it up. You can see live availability and today's rate on the MPV rental page — it starts from around RM 130 a day, and longer bookings bring that down. Prices subject to change based on booking and per diem.

A Few Things Worth Knowing Before You Book

  • Will your bags fit? Yes — just fold the back row : Here is the one thing to get right. With all seven seats in use, the boot only holds a bag or two. The moment you fold the rear row, it opens up to take three or four large suitcases plus carry-ons — plenty for a family of five. So if you are travelling with luggage, plan to seat five and fold the back, not seven. Tell us your group size when you book and we will make sure it works.

  • Travelling with kids? Ask for a child seat when you book : The Alza has two ISOFIX points on the middle row, so a pair of forward-facing child seats clip in side by side and leave the back row for older kids or adults. We can fit them for you, but we only carry a few, so ask when you book rather than at pickup.

  • Grab a Touch 'n Go card before you hit the highway : Malaysian tolls are cashless — you will need a Touch 'n Go or RFID card. One card covers the whole car: one tap and you are through. Pick one up at KLIA arrivals, any 7-Eleven, or a petrol station, and top it up at any station or in the app. Full details in our Touch 'n Go guide.

  • Landing after 9pm? Book pickup for the morning : Our team meets you daily between 9 AM and 9 PM, airport included. If your flight gets in late, grab an airport hotel and we will hand the car over first thing — much easier than a midnight scramble. Land before 9 PM and your pickup is no problem.

Sedan or 7-Seater? A Quick Rule

Simple version: four people with light bags, a sedan is fine. Add a fifth person, a child seat, or a second big suitcase, and you want the 7-seater. Splitting one Alza five or six ways almost always costs less than two sedans — and nobody is stuck in a separate car, waiting in a separate queue.

How Pickup Works

Pick your date, time, and spot on the MPV rental page — KLIA, KLIA2, or our KL office. At the airport, our driver meets you in the arrivals hall with the car; no counter queue, no off-site shuttle. Bring your licence, passport, and a card for the deposit (it is a hold, released once you return the car in the same shape). Our security deposit guide explains how that works.

Where a 7-Seater Will Take You

The Alza is happy on every big route out of KL: Genting Highlands (about 45 minutes), Malacca (2 hours), the Port Dickson beaches (under 1.5 hours), and Cameron Highlands (around 3 hours of easy mountain bends). All sealed roads, no 4x4 needed. Our best road trips from Kuala Lumpur guide has the drive times and toll costs.

5 passengers + rear folded5 adults3 to 4 large suitcases + carry-onsFamily holiday with checked luggage
4 passengers + rear + 1 middle folded4 adultsGenerous, 5+ bagsSmall family with maximum luggage

For a family of five or six friends, one 7-seater beats two sedans — cheaper per person, and everyone stays together from the airport to the hotel.

Ready to Book Your 7-Seater?

  • If your group is big enough that two cars would be a hassle, a 7-seater is the easy answer — one booking, everyone together, room for the bags. For most families that is the Perodua Alza: seven seats, automatic, and comfortable on every highway out of KL.

  • See live rates and grab your dates on the MPV rental page. Not sure about luggage or child seats? Message us — help@mjadventuretravel.com or WhatsApp +60 11-3151 9796 — and we will sort it before you fly.

Which 7-seater cars does MJ Adventure Travel offer in Kuala Lumpur?

The Perodua Alza, Malaysia's most popular compact 7-seat MPV, and the Honda BR-V crossover, both automatic. Our MPVs seat up to seven — we do not carry premium people-movers or 10-seater vans. Live availability is on the MPV rental page.

Will my luggage fit in a Perodua Alza?

With seven seats up, just a bag or two. Fold the back row — the usual family setup, with five seated — and you will fit three or four big suitcases plus carry-ons. Travelling heavy? Seat four and fold more, and it turns into a proper estate boot.

Can you deliver a 7-seater to KLIA or KLIA2?

Yes. Our driver brings the car to the arrivals hall and hands it over there — no counter, no shuttle. Book at least a day ahead so we can lock in your slot.

How much does a 7-seater car rental cost in Kuala Lumpur?

The Perodua Alza starts from around RM 130 a day when you book direct, and longer rentals get a better daily rate. The MPV rental page shows live pricing for your exact dates, with no third-party booking layers. Prices subject to change based on booking and per diem.

Do I need a special licence to rent a 7-seater in Malaysia?

No — a normal car licence covers the Alza and the BR-V. Bring your home-country licence, plus an International Driving Permit if your country needs one. Our tourist driving licence guide has the country-by-country list.
